LENTEN PROGRAM

FRIDAY Night Clam Chowder and Discussion Class— during Lent, St. Thomas will be offering a simple meal of clam chowder and bread followed by a presentation by Father rich and discussion. Each session will be on a different topic regarding the church. The first session will be introductory and we will be talking about the History of St. Thomas and our history as well. This first session is really a time for the new Rector to learn about St. Thomas and the people who have made it what it is. The second session will be an introduction to the Ancient Celts and how they have influenced Anglicanism. They are with us still. The third session will be a look at Early to Medieval Christianity, especially in the British Aisles. The fourth will examine the reformation and the Via Media. The fifth will wrestle with Baptism and Eucharist and the sixth will look at the other Sacramental Rites. Dinner will begin at 6:00 PM followed by the presentation and discussion. We should finish shortly before 8:00 PM. Please invite your friends. Everyone is welcome!

WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY AND EUCHARIST

Beginning on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11 AM we will meet in the Coram Lounge to discuss the Gospel of Matthew. This Bible Study will finish at 11:45 so that we can move to the church for a half hour Eucharist. We will cover approximately one chapter each week. There is no required reading outside of the class. When we complete one section of Scripture, we then decide as a group what we would like to study next. Discussion will be lively, and there should be a variety of opinions represented. The Bible Study will continue beyond Lent and the Eucharist will continue if there is enough interest in continuing after Lent. Everyone is invited to join us. For more information, contact Father Rich at (508) 824-9595 or FrRich64@aol.com.
